International Festival of Carthage
The International Festival of Carthage ((アラビア語:مهرجان قرطاج الدولي)) is an annual music festival taking place in July and August since 1964 in the coastal city of Carthage (Tunisia).
== History ==
Considered one of the Arab, African and world's most important festivals, the International Festival of Carthage is housed in the antique theater of Carthage restored in the early twentieth century and has a capacity of 7,500 spectators capacity. Carthage Festival has attracted since its founding artists, the most famous artists of the Arab world, Ali Riahi, Hedi Jouini, Saber Rebaï, Kadhim Saher, Warda Majida El Roumi. But the festival goes beyond the Arab-Mediterranean culture to deliver all kinds of artwork. As well, the scene of Carthage played host Youssou N'Dour also Dalida, James Brown, Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, Alpha Blondy, Joe Cocker, Serge Lama, Gérard Lenorman or Charles Aznavour, as well as plays, dances folk and ballet.
